We are writing to you with exciting news about the Bellin Health Emergency Services campaign. With a fundraising goal of $3.0 million, the 20-month campaign concluded on September 30, 2010 with total gifts and gift commitments of $3.2 million. Every gift is a gift that contributed to the campaign’s success. Thank you for your investment in community-based health care and for supporting this campaign.
The renovated and expanded Pavilion—now known as the Hendrickson Family Pavilion—has now been in operation since March 2010. Since the opening, we have received many positive comments from patients and their families, staff, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and physicians. An increase in patient visits also reflects a positive change. In particular:
- patient satisfaction scores for the emergency department have been the highest ever received, with several of the highest scores in the areas of “comfort of the department” and “patient flow”
- Children and their parents have been overjoyed with the new private and very kid friendly environment of the KidCare. We are now seeing nearly 400 children per month in KidCare.
- The world-leading 320 slice CT scanner technology (which is the only one of its kind in the region) and the general x-ray room located within the Emergency Services Pavilion space has been noted for easy access and more timely test times and results, and
- Patient volume statistics have remained very stable with an increasing total visit trend at 2450 patients per month, even though we are constantly working to provide patients with the appropriate alternative health care resource for non-emergency issues, such as Bellin’s FastCare Clinics and the Bellin Medical Group Clinics.
As you can see, Bellin’s Emergency Services Pavilion is off and running, thanks to your generous support. With our emergency department being Bellin’s front door to over 30% of our patients, it is wonderful to now be able to welcome them into a modern facility with some of the highest quality technology, combined with professional and competent physicians and nurses. Thank you for being such a positive change-maker!
On behalf of the Campaign Cabinet and Co-Chairs Susan Finco and Nancy Armbrust, thank you very much for contributing to our success.
With gratitude and sincerity,
Nan W. Bush
